Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives concludes vital humanitarian projects supporting Sudanese refugees in Chad

MBRGI and UNHCR completed humanitarian projects in eastern Chad, providing clean water, medical care and improved living conditions for more than 131,000 Sudanese refugees and members of host communities.

The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) announced the completion of several humanitarian projects supporting Sudanese refugees in Chad, in collaboration with UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency.

The projects aimed to provide access to clean water and medical care, improve public health infrastructure and enhance living conditions for Sudanese refugees and host communities in eastern Chad.

The projects successfully achieved their targets, providing services to more than 131,000 Sudanese refugees and members of the host community.

The humanitarian work included drilling 10 wells in refugee camps in eastern Chad. The wells have an average capacity of 975 cubic metres of potable water per day and benefit approximately 65,000 people.

The projects demonstrate the importance of sustainable humanitarian partnerships in improving living conditions and supporting communities affected by displacement.
