“Giving spans a lifetime, grants you a life beyond life, and its impact lasts for centuries.”
In 2015, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum launched the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives as an overarching entity uniting humanitarian, aid and development initiatives.
The foundation aims to enhance and institutionalise humanitarian work by providing the necessary tools, technologies, expertise and resources to advance these efforts.
When Sheikh Mohammed assumed the role of Crown Prince of Dubai in 1995, humanitarian and relief efforts adopted a more comprehensive approach focused on improving the quality of life for individuals in less fortunate communities.
On 4 January 2006, Sheikh Mohammed became the Ruler of Dubai and a member of the UAE Supreme Council. On 11 February 2006, he assumed the position of Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates.
Under his guidance, humanitarian and relief work expanded significantly, growing in scale, speed and sustainability.
